Post-Derecho, Day 11

Today I raked the rest of the backyard, yielding a chest-high pile of branches. The strawberry leaves are making a run for the cherry tree. The raspberries are heavy laden, but do their best to stand up when hoisted out of the weeds into which they were beaten down.

For inside work, I finished three little transcripts for AFR.

I went back out, but had so many blisters I couldn't face more raking, so I waded into the weeds and found several tomato plants. I think they did pretty well in the storm because they had so many weeds to cushion them! The ground was hard, and I'm sure I left plenty of roots in, but there is lots of sunshine to be had with all the old trees carved out of the sky.

I am grateful there is wine to relieve the pain in my back and plenty of cold water to fill the rest of me. Everything aches in a good way.
